ADSL2+ availability check and upgrade ordering is available via MyNetspace. Unfortunately we are unable to accept upgrade orders by telephone at this time.
Upgrade without downtime
'Fast Churn' is available wherever Netspace has ADSL2+ coverage. Fast Churn allows customers to upgrade from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ with typically only a few moments downtime while your cabling in the telephone exchange is moved to ADSL2+ capable equipment.
In the unlikely event that an upgrade from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ cannot be performed using ‘Fast Churn’ we must first disconnect your ADSL1 service before we can commence the ADSL2+ connection process. If this is the case you will be without a Broadband connection for typically 14 working days. During this time you may use your existing Netspace account for Netspace dial-up Internet access.
By doing the availability check in the 'Upgrade/Downgrade Your Plan' form in MyNetspace you will be able to confirm that Fast Churn is available before needing to commit to an upgrade.
Downtime during the upgrade process
Some Netspace customers will experience downtime when upgrading to an ADSL2+ plan. This will depend on whether 'Fast Churn' is available or not.
In areas where an upgrade from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ can be performed using ‘Fast Churn’ you will experience typically only a few moments downtime while the ADSL cabling in the telephone exchange is moved to ADSL2+ capable equipment.
In areas where an upgrade from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ cannot be performed using ‘Fast Churn’ there will be a period of time during which you will be without a Broadband connection as we must first disconnect your ADSL1 service before we can commence the ADSL2+ connection process. The period of time that you will be without a Broadband connection will typically be between 10 – 14 working days. During this time you may use your existing Netspace account for Netspace dial-up Internet access.
By doing the availability check in the 'Upgrade/Downgrade Your Plan' form in MyNetspace you will be advised which of the above will apply to you before needing to commit to an upgrade.
ADSL Modem
To achieve the increased speed offered by ADSL2+ you must use an ADSL2+ compatible modem. See ADSL2+ Modems FAQ.
ADSL2+ connection speed
The maximum connection speed achievable on ADSL2+ varies depending on many factors including your distance from the exchange, line quality and length, interference, network configuration, traffic and equipment. To get an indication of physical connection speeds typically achievable with ADSL2+ see What is ADSL2+ FAQ.
Upgrade Orders
Do not disconnect your ADSL service before requesting an upgrade to ADSL2+. This will result in unnecessary downtime and may require reconnection of your ADSL service in event that ADSL2+ is not available.
You can check availability and submit an upgrade request via the 'Upgrade/Downgrade Your Plan' link in the 'My Plan' section of MyNetspace.
Please note that upgrade requests can only be performed online via MyNetspace.
